Overlooking the city of Beckley in the mountains of southern West Virginia, where Interstates 64 and 77 meet, we find a taste of heaven on earth. Some call it Grandview, we call it home.

In 1983, Victory Baptist Academy was started in the basement of Victory Baptist Church. Four acres, 1/4 mile east of the church property, was purchased for a school facility and a 50′ x 100′ building was constructed in 1985. Two classrooms were added to the building in 1990. The church was able to purchase a brick home and two more acres of land adjacent to the school in 1996. Upon completion of a remodeling project at the church, a building fund was established on January 23, 1994 with a designated gift in the offering plate of $1.00. We purchased four more acres of land for a major addition and soccer and softball fields.

While clearing land for the foundation in the spring of 1998, an adjoining 12.5 acres with another house was unexpectedly offered to us and we purchased it. We are now blessed with over 30,000 square feet of building that sits on 22 acres of land.

We give God the glory for the miraculous work He has raised up as a beacon of spiritual and academic hope for generations to come. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to share with you a glimpse of what we call the “Miracle on Scott Ridge”.
